• Present simple (affirmative)
1 Read the theory.
We use the present simple for: Affirmative
• repeated actions. He plays tennis on Mondays.
• permanent states. He lives in Rome. I/you like fish.
• habits. I have milk in the morning. He/She/It likes fish.
• general facts. The sun sets in the west. We/You/They like fish.
• characteristics. He has got short fair hair.
Spelling: 3rd person singular
• verb + -s I eat – he eats, I like – he likes
• verb -ss/-sh/-ch/-x/-o + es I go – he goes, I wash – she washes
• verb ending in consonant + -y -y ➝ -ies I cry – he cries
BUT vowel + -y I play – he plays
Time expressions: every day, morning/evening, etc, on Mondays, etc
